While the ukulele is often considered a novelty toy akin to a kazoo, it actually offers a warm introduction to the motor skills of string playing, the marriage of melody and harmony, and personal and ensemble accompaniment for voice. The ukuleles we make are of unique design and made with bamboo plywood providing a rich tone and rugged durability. We are excited to partner with any school or institution that is prepared to offer its students an extended program of learning and practice. We firmly believe that time, patience, and a clever curriculum will open the world of music to just about anyone.

For over 50 years, the Canadian program Ukulele in the Classroom has provided instruments, instruction and methodology to bring music literacy to thousands of students.

Gabe’s ukuleles are available for individual purchase – they cost $90 and each ukulele purchased will fund the donation of another instrument. We also offer classroom sets of 30 ukuleles and a holding rack – to inquire about either an individual purchase or a classroom set, write to us at hello@fourhourday.org.
